Let me introduce you to a fantastic new artist, the 23 year old OLI, alt-pop artist and singer/songwriter based in London.
OLI moved from New Jersey to London at the age of 2 and grew up in a more than musical household.
Influences like from Sade, Razorlights,Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd and also Dion Warwick, to name just a few, make it clear why her own music is so idiosyncratic and diverse.
Due to a family relationship, she was able to work with hit producer Benny D (Stormzy,Boy George, Kylie,Plan B and Robbie Williams).
Both are currently working on a new EP which is due to be released this year and which includes a song that featured Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode.
She was also featured as background vocalist for Boy George many times, among others at Lee Coopers 2019 advert.
Her debut single “Happy” will be released on
February 14th and it’s the first time that she made a song about a family member. It’s about stressful times and fears and trying to help with a song about happiness when the words are missing.
It is the first time that she has written a song that is directly related to people close to her, usually she writes and sings about fictional people or scenarios.
All of their songs show a lot of feeling and emotions and reflect that in her lyrics, she creates an almost tangible atmosphere.
OLI’s Music is visual, atmospheric and non-conformist, a graceful and brilliant sound with which she will definitely make waves in the music scene.
After playing at the Isle of Wight Festival we can look forward to a number of new live performances in 2020 by this great artist.
