E.P, Albums and Singles Interviews Emilyjanewoolleyvass

An Interview with Emily Daccarett.

Fading Memories is the lead single to Emily’s concept album, Yours Always. The album explores the themes of love, loss, rejection, childhood innocence and hope.

“Fading Memories is the third track in the album and it is a Gothic waltz trapped between reality and fantasy. I took a lot of inspiration from Peter Pan and his relationship with his shadow. In Fading Memories, I recall and struggle with reconnecting to the dreams and fantasies that I pushed away as logic and reason set in from growing up.”

Starting a career out in fashion and studying fashion design in Paris Emily Daccarett moved to LA to start a brand.

“From the beginning I paired my collections with original music. I guess in a way I was keeping music as my plan B, but the idea has always been to create a balance between my two passions. It’s been complicated and it still is (if not more) but this is what I have always wanted to do. To have the freedom to express myself in music, film, and fashion.”

Loving film has helped shape Daccarett’s approach to music. “I approach my fashion collections and music, as I do my short films. Everything is connected.”

Taking inspirations from Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, David Bowie, Kate Bush, and Lana Del Rey.

“I have found so much support and a real family with my band, as well as with other aspiring and established musicians.”

Emily then went on to discuss the downside of the music industry that she had witnessed.

“There are many people ready to use and take advantage of indie artists, having a support system really helps to feel protected.”
