A new season, a new festival (Jarred Up Festival 2025.)

Alongside exciting news of music releases, such as FLOCO’s new introspective EP, I’ll be my own mirror, Sheffield’s premier DIY music promoters have announced the new line-up for the next iteration of Jarred Up festival at Sidney & Matilda, taking place on the 25th of October.

Since their success with a debut festival last year, with all tickets sold out, Jarred Up organisers are promising another year of great music, fun, entertainment and success. This year’s line-up features all UK based artists, promoting the national indie, alternative and underground scene with bands such as LIFE from Hull, Jeanie and The White Boys from London, Treeboy & Arc from Leeds, Bloodworm from Nottingham, Cruush from Manchester itself and headlined by Do Nothing. Also featured on the line-up are Floral Image, Grandma’s House, Georgian, and Yowl. More acts are still to be announced, prophesying a great amount of more electrifying musical events and enticing into the world of sweet-sounding thrill. Covering a whole range of genres, Jarred Up organisers build up the energy throughout the whole night and advocate for a creative and lively atmosphere.

Although over a quarter of all available tickets have already sold and early-bird tickets sold out, there are still Tier 2 and second release ticket bundles available from £35.

A founder of the Jarred Up festival, James Watkins, shares his thoughts about the upcoming iteration:

“We are really excited to reveal the next five acts joining the line-up for our 2025 iteration of the Jarred Up Festival. LIFE are a band we have been wanting to book for a while here at Jarred Up, so it is fantastic to have them play the festival this year. Jeanie and the White Boys are doing some really cool things, and we recently went and saw them live, supporting the Moonlandingz and Warmduscher, and we were so impressed that we just knew we had to get them on the line-up. Treeboy & Arc are another act whom we have been wanting to get back in Sheffield for a while, so we are buzzing to have them. Both Bloodworm and Cruush are two acts who, in our eyes, represent the best of the UK’s up-and-coming guitar-led scene, and as we as a promoter are committed to promoting the very best new music in the UK, it was an absolute no-brainer to have them join the rest of the bands, Overall, we are absolutely thrilled with how the festival is looking, and we can’t wait to reveal the last few acts who will be joining our headliners Do Nothing, and the rest of this incredible line-up.”

Jarred Up is more than just a festival – it’s a whole movement. The organisation runs a record label with various artists from Sheffield, aiming to promote their music, a work-in-progress magazine, and a history of community-based open mic events and shows under the name The Arts Lab. Everyone can find their voice and society with Jarred Up.

With Sheffield being another epicentre of the Northern music scene and music history, it’s given us culturally defining and significant musicians and bands such as Def Leppard, Bring me the Horizon, Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets. Jarred Up is providing the opportunity for other underground acts to pop up into the spotlight and potentially become the next generations’ culturally defining sound. Who knows what the future holds, and which bands will plaster the walls of teenagers around the UK?

Alongside festivals such as Bludfest keeping the ticket prices affordable, Jarred Up organisers rise up to today’s challenge of providing opportunities for many potential undiscovered and underrepresented artists as well as assuring that, with the current economic controversies in the music business, music enjoyers can still attend their favourite events. The profits from Jarred Up’s community events are used to fund the festival, keeping the arts domains accessible for everyone! If you’re reading this from Sheffield, or planning to stop by the city, this is a sign to check out their year-round events and support the local music scene.

Reminder that the 2025 Jarred Up festival iteration will be taking place at Sheffield’s Sydney & Matilda on the 25th October. Get your tickets now, before they’re all gone!
