Send out the clowns !

Musik Magazine received an unusual press release today, these protesters are wanting to make themselves known to Manchester.

Cirque de Résistance is taking place on Sunday the 29th of September from 11am to 10pm.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive along Deansgate at 11 am to watch the Cirque de Résistance pro-EU parade.

They have chosen the location to be a stones throw away from the Conservative conference.

As part of the circus-themed fun, MCR4EU will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as clowns”.

They’ll be organising hundreds of activists to don clown costumes and follow the parade with one clear message: Send Out The Clowns.

The day boasts of –

11am ‘Circus Parade’ along Deansgate from to the Cathedral to Castlefield: lots of colour and noise, giant puppets, stilt walkers, fire-breathers, marching bands, inflatable animals, flanked by the ‘March of the Clowns’ Guinness World Record attempt.

1pm – 10pm onwards ‘#EUphoria’ @ Castlefield Bowl. An unashamedly Pro-EU circus-themed satirical variety show and political rally with music, comedy, cabaret, magic and derring-do with comedian Mitch Benn as ringmaster. There will also be a circus ‘big top’ tent with bars, European food stalls and merchandise.

Manchester City Council and GM Police have given permission to Manchester For Europe and friends to celebrate the benefits of EU membership.

Manchester For Europe (MCR4EU) is a local affiliate of Britain for Europe and the European Movement.
