The Red Stains are “the band with summat to shout about (or them who tag our names on toilet doors.)” according to their Facebook profile!
Starting with a funky room-filling bass, the track spills into pop-rock-punkish soundscapes. “You can objectify me for desire and fun”, the lyrics state, giving “two fingers in the face of objectification”. I have never heard a song that directly deals with this before and it definitely made a lasting impression on me.
If you get the chance, do your best to see this band live when they are able to start gigging again. I know they’ll be top of my to-see list!
