What’s your favourite song?

My favourite song is called “You are my starship” by Dazz Band. I feel like this era of music had the most insane quality (in a good way) and is inspirational to me. A lot of the music I grew up on ends up showing up in the music I create naturally. The bass in the song is also one of my favourites.

Recently I have been creating some music which will be a part of my first few releases. I’ve been working with my brother Cassell Beats who is an insanely talented producer. His versatility paired with our understanding of each other as people really helps us create authentic stuff.

Music is on the way! I’m really excited to share this with people this year.

I’d say the music that I’m making at the moment is a fusion of Hip Hop, R&B, Afro Beats and Dance (a little bit of Soul too). That sounds like a lot of genres! It’s a mashup of both of us; how/where we were raised and our different life experiences so far.

Any advice you’d like to share with other artists?

If I’m honest I’m still working it out and it can be confusing and difficult at times. I guess I would say to remember that everyone is going through it and give yourself some grace sometimes.

I would probably also say to try and fail / make mistakes as many times as possible.
For me that’s the only way I can fully learn from something.

Have you any plans for your music for 2025?

Yes! I’m aiming to drop music this year. Can’t for everyone to hear it.

I don’t have any releases yet but there will be music coming out in time for summer. My first release will be a song I made with my brother (Cassell Beats.)

This was one of the first songs we made together so it’s really special to both of us.

This song to me feels like a vomit of creativity that I feel like I had been holding back for a while.

I also directed and edited the music video to this song which emulates the scrapbook style that runs through a lot of things I create. I guess the inspiration behind this song was just the feeling of anxiety and intrusive thoughts consuming you.

As for the music, I would say that it’s influenced by what we heard growing up: Rare Groove, Soul, R&B, Hip Hop etc.
