Naty Giachino Releases Indie Acoustic New Single, Patti & Fred.

Naty Giachino, a British & Uruguayan singer-songwriter/drummer based in London, released her debut album in 2025 titled Just a Drummer and this year, she’s starting off strong with a new acoustic indie single, Patti & Fred

On her Instagram, Naty posted a carousel exploring her debut album as well as inspiration behind the music, writing:
“In 2025 we toured Japan, played UK festivals, were featured on music blogs and magazines, had our songs played on radio all over the world and recorded a new song in Tokyo. We are thankful for all the support we have received 🙏

Of all the things that happened, I am most proud of recording and releasing our debut album ’Just a Drummer’. It is where everything started.

The songs are based on an event, a memory or an emotion. Here is a peek into the meaning or inspiration for each song.”

Indeed, her music makes those moments and memories tangible. Patti & Smith inspires us to appreciate those most beautiful but fleeting moments that build who we are, and make life all the more worth living.

Her past album has re-imagined iconic indie and rock music. Notably, as part of the debut project, Naty released her own version of California Dreamin’, softening the vocals and instrumentals. Naty’s music is brilliant at bridging welcoming but moving ambience, and transforming the listening experience into something serene.

Many other previous singles emphasise the influence her South American heritage has had on her music, most notably through Libros Sin Tapas, where the sereneness and softness also meshes with dynamic and satisfying guitars.

Having toured across the globe alongside various musicians, her music also resonates with audiences from every country. Naty has caught the attention of international online publications, journals and her music has been featured on curated playlists, as part of the growing interest in authenticity. Naty’s collaboration has also reached Pink Floyd and Madonna’s bassist, Guy Pratt.

Recorded in Tokyo, Japan, during Naty’s recent tour, drawing inspiration from her stay in Japan, writing about ‘walking the streets of Tokyo in the rain’. Nodding towards the iconic Patti Smith and Fred “Sonic” Smith, Naty wrote the single after having read M Train – a memoir of Patti Smith. Naty Gianchino explores emotional authenticity through heartfelt lyricism. She blends grief, honesty and intimacy with acoustic warmth.

“Inspired by reading ‘M Train’ by Patti Smith, Naty’s new single is about those beautiful fleeting moments spent with a loved one that go away so quickly but give meaning to our whole existence. We want those moments to stay ‘forevermore’.”

Recorded in Tokyo by Hiro Takagi then mastered in London’s Air Studios by Jasper Ward, the single was also produced in collaboration with Alex Scarfe on guitars. Stepping away from indie rock sounds that she’d used in songs such as Chelsea Girls, the Patti & Fred’s simple acoustic instrumentals bring Naty’s voice to the forefront, emphasising its rawness.

The single is available on all major streaming services. You can listen and download the new Patti & Fred single through Soundloud, using this link: https://soundcloud.com/naty-giachino/patti-fred?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
