Icelandic indie-folk outfit have announced their return to the UK next year, in promotion of their latest album All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade.
Their UK shows will start in Manchester next February, before moving onto Nottingham and Leeds. OMAM burst onto the scene in 2011 with “Little Talks”, the breakout single from their debut album My Head Is An Animal.
Since then the band has released four studio albums, and cemented themselves as indie heroes with a unique blend of folk and pop. All Is Love and Pain, released October 17th, is their first full-length release in six years. After individually pursuing solo projects, the members have regrouped to explore their identity as a band.
Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir of the band says, “Iceland plays a huge role in this album and has always been an anchor for us.” Consequently, the album has allowed them to return to this idea of home, both as a geographical place and a world inhabited by friends making music together. It is a mix of a hope and a continued “spiral into chaos,” which immediately shines through on the album’s first track “Television Love.”
“I’m bleeding love all over the place,” Ragnar Þórhallsson sings, a lyric that is both chilling and earnest. As the album’s title indicates, love and pain coalesce, uniting the band in new ways. Ultimately, Nanna says, All is Love and Pain encapsulates “a band coming together to play.”
Given the band’s immense instrumentation and even bigger touring crew, they are definitely best experienced live.
Tickets for their 2026 tour are on sale now, and the complete UK dates are as follows:
15th February – Manchester, Albert Hall
22nd February – Nottingham, Rock City
26th February – Leeds, O2 Academy
